Stortford Interiors has secured the interior fit-out project for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.

Appointed by main contractor Sir Robert McAlpine, the six-month project for the charity, which takes in over 8,000 dogs and cats every year, encompasses the fit-out of the new hospital and administration building’s reception, assembly rooms and cellular office and meeting spaces. Work is already underway on the project and is expected to be complete by April 2016.

Stortford Interiors package includes the design and installation of a multi-disciplined package which includes drywall, suspended ceilings (timber, mineral fibre and metal-pan), bespoke glass wall partitions, joinery and door sets as well as tea-point and washroom fit-out. Stortford’s are also working in close conjunction with project stakeholders to develop bespoke timber screens which will be complimented by cantilevered bulkheads.

Throughout the pre-construction and design process Stortford Interiors has worked collaboratively with the project team to secure best value for the Battersea charity. Methods of build have been consistently reviewed and construction has been closely scrutinised to ensure compliant cost-effective solutions are utilised.

Scott Shearing, of Stortford Interiors, said: “By working in close conjunction with our joinery division, Parkrose, we can ensure consistency and the highest levels of quality throughout delivery. We’re confident the finished product will meet everyone’s standards, including our four-legged friends! ”

Mark Leeming, from Sir Robert McAlpine, added:  “Combining multiple internal fit-out packages within one makes a huge amount of sense both commercially and through resolving the interface and tolerance issues to ensure that a quality product is achieved.”
