Home News New labeling for fire stopping partitions

AIS FPDC in collaboration with the Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) is introducing a new labelling system designed to highlight the risk of cutting through fire rated partitioning.

The agreement was made during the FIREX exhibition at ExCeL, London where Joe Cilia, technical manager at AIS FPDC, spoke before a live audience about the installation of fire-rated partitions and doors. The labels which will be supplied in rolls of sticky tape will have a QR code to notify anyone working on a partition about the need to preserve the integrity of the material and ensure any holes for services and ducts are correctly fire stopped by competent operatives.

“It’s all about saving lives,” said Joe Cilia who also revealed that Encon Insulation, the independent UK distributor of thermal materials, has agreed to distribute the rolls of labels through its network of outlets.
