The Duchess of Cornwall becomes a Plaisterer
HRH, The Duchess of Cornwall became a fully-fledged Plaisterer on last month when she was presented with a specially commissioned Livery badge and Certificate during a Reception at Plaisterers’ Hall.
The Badge was designed by a 19 year old apprentice goldsmith, Joshua Gane who, along with the other students from the Goldsmiths’ Centre in Clerkenwell, met the Duchess during the evening.
The Master Plaisterer, Michael Jones said: “We are delighted to welcome Her Royal Highness as an Honorary Liveryman. The Duchess is very aware of our commitment to education not only supporting our historic trade but also other opportunities for young people to acquire genuine skills for worthwhile careers.”
In her speech thanking the Company the Duchess said: “Here at the Worshipful Company of Plaisterers, I know how proud you are to promote the craft of plastering; to sustain it through annual awards and training bursaries; to raise money for charity and to maintain your links with this country’s wonderful Armed Forces.”
